Another outing for me with my 'friends off the internet' from runners world, about 30 of us.
9.5 'country miles' of mud mud and more mud, up to our knees in places - with a few water features - up to our hips.
I fell in twice - right in, head under the water in!!
Instead of a few muddy bits - it was mud from start to finish on all the offroad bits - probably 2/3 of the course.
The route was changed slightly from last year due to a change of use of one area by one of the farmers across who's land the race is run (a pheasant farm) so instead of one of the water features we had to run along the edge of two fields which were thick with mud - you had to watch every step, it was hard work on the legs, my friend and I decided it was a good core workout as we struggled to stay upright!! - I feel as if I have run much further.
My time was almost the same as last year - 2.07, which I am happy with as it was much tougher, there were bits I ran last year where it was just not possible to run this year, it was too muddy
No idea how Mark did - I just know he was in front of me and he was all showered and in the bar by the time i finished
